The Bakersfield metropolitan areas has been one of the fastest
growing areas in the county since 2000. Kern County, owner and operator
of Meadows Field, retained Coffman Associates to update the master plan
which included preparation of new mapping, a drainage plan, and
environmental documentation. Having recently opened a new air carrier
terminal, the study emphasized new air cargo development, airfield
capacity, general aviation hangar development and international
facilities.
