This county-owned airport is located adjacent to the
City of Camarillo that is very concerned with airport development and
aircraft overflights. The noise analysis showed no homes within the 65 CNEL
contour. Noise complaints, however, are very common from people exposed to
lower noise levels. In order to analyze this issue, noise contours were
prepared down to the 60 CNEL level. The Noise Compatibility Study
recommended noise abatement route and turn procedures to avoid noise
sensitive areas within the City of Camarillo. In addition, the Study also
included land use recommendations to preserve the current noise compatible
corridors to and from the Airport.
