In the process of conversion from a military base to
a civilian airport, Castle Air Force Base is anticipated to serve as a
commercial service airport with a variety of general aviation activity. The
conversion of the Base will include the development of both airside and
landside facilities. In the Feasibility Study and Master Plan, emphasis was
placed on the airport's ability to accommodate activity from other area
airports and to serve as an airline crew training and maintenance location.
