Colorado City Municipal Airport is located along the
Arizona-Utah border in northwestern Arizona. The Master Plan provided for
future landside facility development and development of parallel taxiways,
runway extension and larger safety areas were programmed to ensure the
airport could safely accommodate all categories of general aviation
aircraft serving this remote area. The Master Plan recommended the
acquisition of approximately 380 acres of land to protect airfield safety
areas and provide for both aviation-related and non-aviation related
development to aid the airport in becoming self-sufficient.
