  • Hector International Airport

Undertaken in 2000-2001, Coffman Associates' update to the plan they had completed in 1991 for Hector International Airport involved a re-examination of long-term needs in the commercial terminal area, general aviation and air cargo areas, and in areas used by the North Dakota Air National Guard's 119th Fighter Wing, the "Happy Hooligans." The airport serves as the primary commercial service airport for southeastern North Dakota, northeastern South Dakota, and western Minnesota. The 20-year development program reflects over $87 million in improvements to the facility, and includes expansion of the terminal area to meet future demands, phased runway and taxiway improvements, and expansion of the general aviation and air cargo facilities. The facility is managed by the Municipal Airport Authority of the City of Fargo.
