The airport, which is home to the University of North
Dakota Center for Aerospace Studies, has considerable training activity in
addition to scheduled airline and regional cargo sortation facilities.
Several facilities are requiring expansion and the nearly 300,000 annual
operations are creating the need to provide more airfield capacity. The
planning process involved an analysis of creative ways to expand capacity
of the airfield and the terminal area at minimal cost, and reserve area for
the airportÕs Foreign Trade Zone.
