Located in the northern portion of the City of
Huntsville, the Huntsville Municipal Airport provides a substantial general
aviation facility to the region. The airport provides a 5,006-foot by
100-foot runway, full length parallel taxiway, an assortment of hangar
facilities, and a full array of aviation services. The plan has identified
a need to extend the runway to up to 6,400 feet to serve the needs of
corporate operators using the airport. Other long term goals include the
construction of additional hangars and fixed base operations. The plan also
includes analysis of maximizing the airport’s available property for
revenue enhancement.
