Coffman Associates is finalizing a Master Plan for Independence Municipal Airport. The airport is home to Cessna piston aircraft production and now the Mustang very light jet. The Master Plan focused on safety improvements at the airport such as locating an Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) and a second Instrument Landing System (ILS). New storage hangars were planned as well as revenue enhancement strategies for the use of all airport property.
