Originally a privately-owned facility, the Mesquite
Metro Airport has blossomed into an active general aviation reliever
airport. Located on the eastern edge of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex,
the City of Mesquite, as well as the airport, has experienced dynamic
growth by local and national corporations. Thus, the Airport Master Plan
Study focused providing for larger corporate aircraft, while bringing the
airport into compliance with several FAA design standards. The plan also
keyed on financial enhancements, including industrial and commercial
development which will aid the airport in becoming a financially self
supporting entity.
