The Texas Department of Transportation contracted
Coffman Associates to prepare an environmental assessment for the 1,500
foot extension of the airport’s sole runway. The airport is located
at the midpoint between the cities of Midlothian and Waxahatchie in Texas.
Extensive fieldwork was required for the project including biological,
cultural resource, and wetland surveys. The project also included the
relocation of a high-voltage transmission line which would have been
located within the extended runway’s RPZ.
