Owned and operated by Nueces County, the Nueces County Airport
is located immediately northwest of the City of Robstown and seven miles
west of the Corpus Christi International Airport. This general aviation
airport has recently expanded to better serve small and medium sized general
aviation aircraft. The Airport Master Plan indicated that the county's
aviation growth will continue and will dictate the need to further expand
several facilities at the airport. The proposed expansion needs include
a longer runway, additional aircraft parking apron, new airport entrance
road, and additional aircraft storage hangars. Projected development plans
for the airport have also impacted the City's update to the Comprehensive
Plan. As a result of a combined and cooperative planning process, the City
will be in position to provide the area with a regional, intermodal transportation
system.
