The study in this resort city involved an update of 1987 Part 150 NEM and NCP prepared by our firm. The update was done with a Master Plan study and involved four jurisdictions. Key noise abatement measures involved a runway extension and adjustments to departure tracks and calm wind runway use to minimize noise impacts on residential areas north and south of the airport. A noise berm and an extension of a noise wall also were recommended. Major land use management measures involved sound insulation, revising airport combining zoning boundaries, and rezoning for compatible land use.
