Situated on a 2,518-acre site on the western edge of
Oregon’s High Desert, Roberts Field - Redmond Municipal Airport
serves the central Oregon area of Deschutes, Jefferson, and Crook counties
and is geographically located along the eastern slope of the Cascade
Mountain Range. The airport handles over 300,000 annual passengers,
and two airlines provide scheduled services to Portland, Seattle, and San
Francisco. The airport is also a base for the U.S.F.S. Redmond Air
Center. With continuing development pressures around the airport, the
master plan examined existing terminal building expansion, a new terminal
location, runway extensions, a new parallel runway, and future development
areas for general aviation facilities. The plan provided the
opportunity to review existing leases, areas currently available for
leasing, and redevelopment of areas under short-term lease. The
master plan updates a previous plan completed by Coffman Associates in
1997.
