The San Carlos Airport, which logged over 133,000 operations
in 1994, serves nearly 500 based aircraft. Situated on only 160 acres of
land and constrained by a freeway and tidal waterways of the San Francisco
Bay, the focus of the Master Plan was to explore options for extending
the existing 2,600-foot runway and to develop new landside facilities to
accommodate nearly 100 new based aircraft.
