Since the first Noise Compatibility Plan was completed
in 1986, many changes have occurred in the aviation industry, the airport,
and local area. An increase in corporate jet activity, completion
of the airline phase-out of their loudest aircraft, and new technology
to monitor aircraft noise and flight tracks were the areas of focus for
this study. In addition, the City of Santa Barbara is pursuing compatible
land use planning controls and fair disclosure options with the local governments
in the airport area.
