Springerville Municipal Airport is located in the Round
Valley region of Eastern Arizona, at the entrance to the White Mountains.
The airport supports 26 based aircraft and approximately 9,300 annual aircraft
operations. It also serves as a seasonal base for the U.S. Forest Service's
Smoke jumpers, an elite band of forest firefighters. Located in a rapidly
expanding economic development area, the airport's long-term needs relate
to ensuring airfield safety and efficiency, vehicular access, and financial
self-sufficiency.
