  • Wickenburg Municipal Airport

The Wickenburg Municipal Airport Master Plan and subsequent Environmental Assessment focused on extending Runway 5-23 to 6,100 feet, relocating the parallel taxiway to meet federal design standards, improving the runway safety area (RSA), obstruction clearance, and adding global positioning system (GPS) instrument approach capability. The landside plan focused on replacing apron areas lost to the taxiway relocation, adding additional hangar areas, and a helipad. Due to the limited size of the existing Wickenburg Municipal Airport site and encroaching residential land uses, the Master Plan recommended that the Town secure the Forepaugh Airport (located 15 miles west of the Town of Wickenburg) from the United States Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to serve the long term aviation demand for the Town and regional area.
