This reliever general aviation airport is located in Johnson County,
Kansas, which is the fastest growing county in the state. The
airport is located adjacent to the Cities of Overland Park and Olathe,
which are both large employment centers in the region. The
airport accommodates significant business jet activity.
Encroachment by residential development is a constant concern for this
airport and the master plan made several recommendations to further
protect the airport. This master planning effort was designed to
specifically recommend improvements that would maintain this facility
as the best general aviation reliever it could be without extending the
runway or acquiring additional property.
